Sanctity of Life &
Racial Reconciliation

Each of us has worth and dignity. That fact must determine the nature of our decisions about how we treat all other humans, including those not yet born and those who have wrongly been less valued.

As we prayed on Sunday for Godís mercy on the millions of children who are at risk of having their lives ended before they take their first breath, we must be willing to remember the mothers who felt there was no one to help them with their babies and the young children who need someone to assure them of Godís love for them.

In the same way, there are millions of men and women who simply want a friend to cross the racial divide that remains in America. They want us to acknowledge that they are made in Godís image and we appreciate them as fellow believers and friends. This is the heart of racial reconciliation: seeing the image of God in every face and seeking good in every encounter.

Supporting Christ Covenant in 2017
Sunday, January 22
During morning worship on Sunday, January 22, we will have the opportunity to come together and dedicate our personal tithes for 2016. As we celebrate God's faithful provision of our needs in the past year, please pray that we would grow in our trust of His promises to His children for the months ahead and for every life circumstance. (Commitment cards will be available in the worship folders again this Sunday and are also available to print out online on our Stewardship page.)

2017 Pastors' Reading Club
Tuesday, February 7 | 7 PM
Join us for our first Reading Club of 2017 as Pastor Ross leads a discussion of Caring for Words in a Culture of Lies by Marilyn Chandler McEntyre. Today more than ever, language needs to be rescued and restored. Drawing on a wide range of sources, both critical and literary, McEntyre's book is an engaging address to everyone concerned with preserving the vitality and precision of the spoken and written word. Click here for the Reading Club brochure with more information. The brochure is also available on our website under the Media menu.

GriefShare Support Group
begins Monday, February 13 | 7 PM
To assure that every person in our church knows about and receives the support they need, our care for those suffering grief is now centered in the Grief Support Ministry, providing both help and information when a death occurs and support in the months when there are many life changes to work through.

Our 13-week GriefShare groups use a video and printed guide to facilitate learning and comfortable discussion. These groups are kept small and have facilitators who have been trained to lead the GriefShare curriculum. For more information about the Grief Ministry, click here. To register or to learn more, contact Mary Jo Culver at or 704-814-1039.
