Accounts Payable and Special Projects
Christ Covenant Church has an opening for a qualified individual to join its finance staff. The primary responsibilities for the successful candidate will be in Accounts Payable. Secondary responsibilities include cross-training for other finance positions and special projects. Experience in Accounts Payable and/or other accounting/finance recommended. Part-time Receptionist
Christ Covenant is looking for a qualified individual to work in the church’s main office as a substitute when the regular staff is unavailable. The successful candidate will likely be a member of Christ Covenant Church and view this position as an opportunity to minister to visitors, callers and staff by creating a welcoming environment and efficient service in a variety of tasks from answering questions and routing calls to handling confidential information or managing the flow of regular mail and emails related to information that comes into or goes through the church office. The successful candidate will be friendly; flexible; able to smoothly multi-task; have a pleasant voice and know proper phone etiquette; possess basic computer skills in Word and handling email; have or be able to quickly master basic office skills for the copier and postage machine and have a dependable vehicle in order to handle the on-campus mail distribution and the afternoon delivery to the Matthews post office. Regional Director, Carolinas - Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child is a dynamic, fast-paced ministry that transforms lives around the world through the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Carolinas Region is one of the top-producing regions in the country in shoe box generation and the stewardship of thousands of volunteers. The goal is to continue to take the ministry to the next level of retaining current participants and growing the scope and reach across North Carolina and South Carolina, primarily through the development of leader volunteers. Samaritan’s Purse is seeking an effective leader, ready for a challenge, with experience managing high capacity staff and volunteers.
The Regional Director is responsible for leading the regional staff in developing and implementing plans toward furthering the ministry of Operation Christmas Child in the Carolinas, specifically:
• Supervising staff
• Spiritually leading staff and volunteers
• Developing an annual ministry plan that meets goals and strategies in the areas of office health, prayer, volunteer relations, church relations, community relations, media relations, logistics and operations
• Recruiting, selecting, equipping (training), leading, and developing year-round leader volunteers according to the High Impact model of volunteer ministry
• Serving on the management team for the Operation Christmas Child Processing Center in Charlotte, NC for four to six weeks in November and December
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in volunteer leadership & management, strong written and verbal communications skills, and ability to motivate and lead volunteer teams in implementing program goals including: recruiting and retaining participation in the program through churches and community groups, facilitating prayer support, building media awareness, and coordinating a regional volunteer run logistics network to collect gifts for the neediest children worldwide.
Responsibilities include travel throughout North and South Carolina. Yearly travel averages 80 days/nights per year. Bachelors Degree preferred.

WORLD Magazine, the largest Christian news magazine in the country, is looking for an experienced journalism professional to edit a new web-site currently under development. The new site, tentatively called WORLD on Campus, will provide original Christian worldview journalism to college-aged men and women (ages 18-25). The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of journalism experience (reporting, writing, and editing experience required) and a mature Christian worldview. The editor must also have a deep familiarity with this age group. Experience writing for this age group is a plus. The site will specialize in "convergence journalism" -- the integration of words, graphics and photography, audio, and video. Therefore, experience with all of these media will also be an advantage.
This is a full-time position. Salary will be based on experience. WORLD Magazine is based in Asheville, N.C., but relocation is not required, though a professional home-office work environment is.

Position Summary:
Provide the expertise to recommend, install and maintain appropriate and cost effective PC computer hardware and software that will enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the SIM International Office.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide the expenditure budget and make purchase recommendations for computer hardware, software, and networks systems.
- Computer Hardware
- Research appropriate new computers, and network hardware.
- Recommend, purchase and install computers, network wiring and equipment.
- Computer Software
- Research appropriate new operating systems and network applications.
- Recommend, purchase, install, and maintain operating systems, network applications.
- Make purchase recommendations for internet and communication equipment, systems and vendors.
- Administer and maintain effective computer and communications network in the SIM International office.
- Perform first level maintenance and support.
- Coordinate and schedule system maintenance with service providers.
- Fulfill all network administrator functions.

- Perform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems.
- Respond to the needs and questions of network users concerning their access to resources on the network and the operation of various software programs.
11.1 Interface with or assist those seeking technical support from software vendors.
- Loads and updates software applications as required.
12.1 Develop new supplemental applications that assist the International Department in meeting operational requirements.
- Participate as a member of the SIM International Systems team, including provision of technical advice as required.
15.0 Supplies/Maintenance for Electronic Equipment
- Investigate sources and oversee the purchase of all computer systems, printers and communication supplies.
- Investigate and oversee the obtaining of appropriate maintenance contracts for all communications equipment, etc.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical/management training or computer related field; experience in setting up and maintaining computers and networks, internet access, printing and photocopy systems; excellent communication and training skills; strong analytical skills and knowledge of a range of IT tools; the ability to work well in a team; good customer service and problem solving skills. Microsoft Certified Engineer experience a plus.

Web Programmer
SIM International
Position Summary
The primary function of this role is to serve as the programmer and web developer for the three SIM International sites AND all sending and ministry offices that choose to align with a standardized content management system. The core of this position is the constant evaluation, improvement and adaptation of existing sites. This person also assumes the administrative responsibilities of ministry and missionary websites requested through SIMNet.
Primary Duties
1. The SIM Web Programmer will provide the digital architecture to address the work of SIM International’s Communication department in the following areas:
- Consistent improvements to www.sim.org and the backend content management system that drives it. This site continues to be the primary voice of SIM International.
- Technical support is required for www.simkids.org and the backend content management system that drives it. The complexity of some of the front page design requires technical alterations, Flash animation programming, etc. This site is the outreach to English speaking children ages 5 – 12 to communicate mission concepts.
- Upgrades and adaptations for www.hopeforaids.org and the backend content management system that drives it. This is the multicountry, multidisciplinary presentation of our work around the world in the area of HIV/AIDS. It too needs regular programming improvements.
2. Further customizations or redevelopment of the SIM Photo Library, along with tighter integration with SIMNet.
3. Management of the 100+ SIM ministry, missionary and staff websites.
- Recording and tracking all these sites and domain names.
- Maintenances of the server.
- Accommodating unique platforms and design packages.
4. Cross-training with eh SIMNet Programmer as a two person team with each person able to cover for the other and work together to more rapidly develop time critical projects.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, experience as a PHP Developer, MySQL/Microsoft SQL Server, MVC design principles, Symfony or Yii framework. PHP Certification or ASP .Net experience a plus.
Demonstrated skills in the area of web development including:
- Extensive HTML / CSS knowledge
- Extensive PHP knowledge
- Ability to use PHP in a Windows / IIS environment
- Strong client/server validation skills
- Extensive knowledge of JavaScript / AJAX
- Exceptional familiarity with object oriented development principles
- SQL Programming
- Familiarity with VBScript and Classic ASP programming
Preferred skills are:
- Knowledge of IIS web server management
- Access database development
- General knowledge of JQuery
- Ability to write PowerShell scripts
- Skills in Photoshop (digital image alteration / enhancement / creation)
