"The Glorious Gospel" (Philemon)
Often overlooked because of its brevity, the Letter of Philemon unfolds the grand theme of the glorious Gospel, as portrayed in its three major characters: Onesimus—who points us to the guilty sinner; Paul—who reflects the gracious Savior; and Philemon—who shows us the Great Sovereign. Philemon makes real the powerful appeal of the Gospel to the sinner and the practical application of Christian behavior and relationship. We forget so soon, as the hymn writer puts it, “God’s remedy for sin” that we need to be reminded and refreshed. So come join us in our study of “the old, old story” of The Glorious Gospel.
